Congratulations to our students - Arjun Singh (Shodan), Oshil Ranasinghe (Shodan), Kiyoaki Tsukada (Shodan) and Georgie Lawrence (Nidan) on getting through the 3 hour grading on a very hot day. It was lovely to cool down in the pool and catch up with your families afterwards at the bbq.
Seiha Local Competition, Brisbane

It was great to see everyone who participated in this year's club competition. It was great to see everyone having a go and our beginners getting competition experience! There were some very good skills on display and the level this year was improved from last year - so well done to all the participants.
A huge thank you to all the helpers and especially the parents who helped with the score keeping - Ben Wilson, Rachael Adolphe and Barry Schramm.
Senior World Championships, Budapest Hungary & World Combat Games, Riyadh Saudi Arabia
October/November 2023
Georgie recently qualified and competed at the World Combat Games for U21 in Riyadh. In addition, Georgie was also selected to represent Australia at her first senior World Championships in Budapest. Sensei Robyn attended as a national coach at both events.
Georgie fought very well at both competitions winning bronze at the World U21 Combat Games in Riyadh then going on to the World Championships in Budapest and placing 9th in teams kumite.
A big congratulations to Georgie!!!. Her committment and dedication to her training over the last 13 years since she began her karate training has certainly attributed to her great results.
National Karate Championships, Perth

Congratulations to our Seiha athletes for the following amazing results. The competition is the highest level in Australia and all the medal bouts were hard fought. These results can be celebrated by all the club members who contributed by training hard alongside the ones who represented QLD and pushing them every step of the way to improve. I hope to see more of our Seiha crew representing QLD next year!
A special congratulations to Lucy and Sienna who formed 2/5 of the female team kumite that won QLD's only gold medal in team kumite. And a huge shout out for Georgie who has been selected to represent Australia at the World Championships in Budapest in October !!!

It was very pleasing to see the athletes trying to implement our recent drills of controlling the distance in kumite. Congratulations to Georgie who recently represented Australia at the Vancouver Series A Karate Championship, Canada. Georgie placed 5th in her division and was the highest placed Australian. Well done Georgie - keep up the training effort.
