The highlight of the competition was seeing Riana and Olivia in the finals of the Womens Open - the blue ribbon event!

Antonio Oliva Training, Seiha Dojo, Brisbane

Last week, in preparation for our upcoming National Championships, Seiha hosted Antonio Oliva at our dojo. Antonio is currently coaching the national team of Ukraine and has coached the best karate fighters in the world including Agyhev. It was a great couple of nights training and offered a great opportunity for our elite athletes to train with one of the world leaders in karate.
World University Championships Championsips, Japan

I recently had the honour and pleasure of coaching the Australian University athletes in Japan for the World Uni Champs. Outstanding results with 3 bronze medal playoffs and a silver medal for Mitchell Durham in -84kg (from WA). Congratulations to Caleb Dooley from our dojo (architecture student from QUT) who was part of the mens team that achieved a playoff for bronze.

Congratulations to our Seiha athletes representing Australia at the 2018 Oceania Championships. The honour to represent Australia as an athlete is achieved through effort and perseverance. As a coach, it is the highest of honours to be entrusted with helping Australia's top athletes. I hope our students can be inspired by the achievements of their training partners, and I look forward to seeing our Seiha students achieving their best in the dojo and in future competitions. Congratulations to all the 18 Seiha athletes that completed at the Queensland karate state championships over the weekend. Our team came home with 19 Gold medals, 17 Silver medals and 7 Bronze medals – an awesome effort. Every athlete that competed came home with a medal which is an outstanding achievement. It demonstrates the commitment and effort that all of our athletes apply to their karate and training. Thank you also to Sensei Sean (refereeing) and Sensei Maki & Sensei Alan (officiating) and for volunteerng their time over the weekend to help run the tournament.

Sensei Robyn, Sensei Leon and seven of Seiha's athletes recenty attended a national training and selection camp in Sydney. All athletes trained hard and were up for national selection to complete at the Oceania Championships in May of this year.
