About Seiha Karate
Seiha Karate has individually designed beginner classes. Martial arts experience is not required however a basic level of physical fitness is helpful. At Seiha karate we do have a strong work ethic and we enjoy training hard! However, as a beginner, the emphasis is on learning the correct technique. As your skills develop so will your overall fitness.

Our Instructors
Seiha karate has great instructors. They have great understanding and skill however more importantly they have a real passion for their martial art. Their enthusiasm and knowledge will challenge and encourage you at every level.
Chief Instructor Sensei Robyn Choi, 5th Dan
Sensei Robyn has been training intensely in karate for more than 30 years. During this time she has trained with a wide range of elite instructors and athletes from the International and Australian karate scene resulting in a highly refined technique and a deep knowledge of the art.
Sensei Robyn is the Queensland Head Coach for Kumite and the Lead Coach for Development for the Australian National Team. Sensei Robyn won 3 bronze medals at the World Championships and was an Australian Team Captain and the QLD Team Captain. Over a period of 15 years of karate competition Sensei Robyn won more than thirty Australian and QLD titles in both Kumite and Kata, gold medals at the Oceania Games and silver and bronze medals at the World Cups. Sensei Robyn has a degree in Optometry and works in Brisbane CBD.
Sensei Sean Lawrence, 5th Dan
Sensei Sean is a World (WKF) level referee, Queensland Kumite Coach and an Executive Committee Member of the QKA. Sensei Sean was the QLD team Co-Captain as well as one of the most dominant male fighters in Australia, winning more than ten Australian and QLD titles. Sensei Sean won gold at the Oceania Games, reached the quarter finals of the World Cup and was in the top 16 at the World Championships. Sensei Sean is an Emergency Specialist and is consultant doctor at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Sensei Leon Romary, 4th Dan
Sensei Leon is Queensland Kumite Coach. Sensei Leon is originally Goju style from Melbourne and has won more than 10 Australian titles and represented Australia at the World Championships with a top 8 placing. He has won gold at the Austrian, Czech and Hungarian Opens. Sensei Leon has a Bachelor of Information technology and Dip. Education.
Sensei Maki Kamada, 3rd Dan
Sensei Maki is an Assistant Queensland Coach in Kata and Kumite. Sensei Maki has won more than 10 Australian titles in both Kata and Kumite, represented Australia at the World Championships in Kata and was Queensland Team Captain. Sensei Maki is a Chemical Engineer.
Sensei Alan Moriarty, 3rd Dan
Sensei Alan has trained for over 20 years with the best exponents of Australian karate and has witnessed many changes in karate in that time. He has represented Queensland at the National titles. Sensei Alan works for the Australian Department of Human Services.
